Journal

I am sad to report that Glenn died at home today around 2:30 pm. He had been getting continually weaker and the labs from 4/26 showed dangerously out of range sodium and potassium. We went to the ER that evening and Glenn spent most of last week in the hospital trying to get his electrolytes stable, but the cancer was too advanced and in the end the effort was not successful.  He tried everything to get to the next clinical trial, but everything was not enough. He was released from the hospital to hospice Friday evening. By midnight this morning, he had become largely non-responsive. I am thankful that his passing seemed to be gentle. In the past several weeks he had enjoyed virtual and in-person visits from friends and relatives from all over the country and celebrated his 70th birthday April 14. My sisters, Susie and Leida, have been here with me throughout this last week, with visits from my two local nieces and phone calls from several out-of-state family members.

Plans for services remain to be determined.

Thanks to all for your thoughts, prayers, and good wishes and love. Glenn was touched by and grateful for the outpouring of support. I know he felt all the love because the last night in the hospital he told me he felt overwhelmed by love.
