Ginny Kiser Obituary

Virginia (Ginny) Agre Kiser, age 68, passed away November 16, 2021 following a brief illness. Her Celebration of Life will be held at Westover Church, 505 Muirs Chapel Rd. Greensboro, NC, 27410on Wednesday, November 24, at 2:30 PM.

Ginny was born on April 7, 1953 on Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. Her father being an Air Force officer, Ginny's family lived many places throughout her childhood, including Texas, Alaska, Kansas, Colorado, Illinois, and Germany. She met her husband Wayne in Germany, where he served as a US Army Military Policeman.

Ginny and Wayne were married in May of 1974 at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. After a year in Michigan, they moved to North Carolina where they raised (and homeschooled) their three children, and where they found a long-lasting source of community in Westover Church. Ginny spent 18 years directing children's choir ministries, which was her passion. She came alive teaching children about God through music.

In more recent years, Ginny has spent time cultivating many precious friendships, including several in her neighborhood, those with the women in her long-time prayer group, and the women in her Bible study. She has also enjoyed praying for, playing, singing, and baking with her 5 grandchildren; and she has faithfully taught music in Westover's first grade Sunday school class the last number of years.

Without drawing attention to her continual acts of love and service, Ginny lived a life that quietly exuded the love of Christ to all with whom she came in contact. She was a true friend to all who knew her.

Ginny is survived and loved by her husband of 47 years, Wayne Kiser; her 3 adult children and their spouses: Dana Butler (and Stan), Lt Col Aaron Kiser (and Paige), and John Kiser (and Haley); her 5 grandchildren: Will, Meredith, Isaac, Maia, and Luke; her 3 brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Joan Agre, Ed and Carol Agre, and Dan and Kathy Agre; and her father: Col O. William Agre, Jr., retired (age 92).

In lieu of flowers, Ginny's request was that donations be directed to Westover Church’s Global Missions fund. If online, scroll down and select Global Missions. After submission, online donors should email accounting@westoverchurch.com to inform that the memorial gift has been made in Ginny’s honor, including your mailing address. If donating by check, indicate the same in the memo line.
