Some good news and some bad. I am sorry to be so late posting. George had his follow up appointment with Dr Tabbal on Thursday this week and we had a great report. George has been running a very low heart rate after his second heart ablation and we had to tweak some meds. Dr Tabbal had told me the next step would be a pacemaker when he spoke with me in the hospital. He did an ablation in the left ventricle on one pesky little misfiring cell and to our great surprise it appears it was a success. So no talk of a pacemaker at this point. Yeah!  ECG is normal and is very nice looking. (George equates this with his looks). I, of course, have to agree with him. So after all he went through in the hospital and all the different heart meds they tried, George has been put through the ringer. I have been cautioning him about getting a flu shot for several years and Dr Tabbal helped push him to finally getting one. After all he has been through, he is very susceptible.  Bad news is we didn't talk him into a pneumonia shot.
Now the bad news... George is battling pneumonia. Cough, cough and more coughing.  He is on antibiotics, humidifier over the bed, being very compliant doing his incentive spirometer (just FYI for the medical geeks), drinking water, eating well and resting.  I do have to reel him in on the resting sometimes though.  This is one tough guy and I will give an update as I get them.  Thanks again for all the prayers and support.
