Hi Friends,
We (Geoff’s children- Melinda, Lisa and JP) decided to start this site to keep friends & family updated with our Dad’s progress as he fights his recent cancer diagnosis, stage 3 multiple myeloma. MM is a blood cancer that attacks the cells in the bone marrow. The long-term prognosis is positive, as this type of cancer is treatable, but with that said, this will still be a VERY long road. Our Dad will start with 3 to 4 months of chemo. After this first round we will meet with an oncologist at Stanford to discuss the possibility of stem cell therapy (an appointment has been booked for August). Our Dad has temporarily moved in with Melinda (aka 5 star boutique recovery spa:).
Dad is currently in the hospital recovering from a lung infection, likely brought on by the chemo and low WBC count. This is our 3rd hospital visit since his diagnosis on May 5th. The dr told Dad he could most likely head home tomorrow.
Many of Dad’s friends & family have asked how they can help. Thank you so much for all of the phone calls and texts. We appreciate each and every one. Right now we are asking for prayers for full recovery, as we believe in God’s ability and desire to heal the sick. He is a good God and we put our trust entirely in His mighty hands.
