Week three done! Energy levels come up once the body is recovering from the chemo. It’s such an amazing experience to see ones body transform with nutrition and detoxification. I have been losing some weight, but I’m no longer eating sugars, white starchy foods, white flour, zero red meat and pork. It’s not completely vegetarian, we can eat eggs, chicken, some fish, and turkey. It’s been a real life changer to increase vegetable servings especially organic ones now. Every week provides new opportunities to meet new people coming into the clinic. The clinic bay holds 12 seats and beds with a morning and afternoon shift. The morning shift is a bit louder and the afternoon is quite and relaxing. I'm in the afternoon shifts and we get to know one each other as folks come in. The typical questions are: where are you from, what kind of cancer do you have, and how long do you plan on being here?
Sunday we went to mass on the California side. We went to Mater Dei Catholic Parish. The place was beautiful and the mass was wonderful. We stayed afterward to ask the father for a healing blessing...he provided it, but he also gave us homework. He asked us to read Psalm 23 and Psalm 91. His directions are to read three to four words at a time and reflect on it. We all tend to read through it and he wanted the focus to be on the passage and to let it unfold and sink in by taking small bits of it at a time. You really need to try it for yourself. Thank you all for your continued prayers. God bless you!
