Whoop Whoop! Gene was transferred to the Progressive Care Unit at Mayo yesterday! He got some of his chest tubes out, and some extra invasive lines out. He sat up in the chair out of bed for a few hours and even walked the hall when he got up to his new room! Totally awesome! He feels exhausted, still trying to take this all in, but for the most part in good spirits. The LVAD is working great and he's off most of the IV medications needed for his heart. The plan is to simply get gene stronger day by day and there's talk of potential discharge in a week. Gene could potentially be ready for visitors early next week, we will keep you posted!
