Journal entry by Marilyn Orlich —
40 days and 40 nights under the care of amazing human beings, from parking valets to food service to health professionals, and the list goes on. Thanks to the staff and my dear niece, Michelle, who is part or RRT(Rapid Response Team at Mayo), we felt well cared for and nurtured. Gary returned home feeling the effects of “bed rotting”😜 but little pain and as many “fix ups” as they could safely do. Still lots of meds, a high calorie diet…(😱🫣 ……..Yikes!) and plenty of checkups ahead, but at the moment, our family feels very grateful.
Many have held us up during this roller coaster of events. The prayers, calls, cards, food offerings, shrubs(Dan & Rick), &words of encouragement on Caring Bridge, etc, all helped Gary and I push on. Gratitude!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
As for me, the only thing I’ll miss is Michelle, and those sunny, picturesque journeys to Rochester. With Fall in the air, my playlist of oldies and goodies blasting away providing “glimmers of joy” to keep me sane, it wasn’t too bad……..!
I say goodbye with hope renewed.❤️
