Welcome to Gary L’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportToday was one of those days in a cancer journey when emotions run very high. Yes, tears were shed!
This is Dr. Wiisanen into whose hands and care we placed ourselves in September. Today we met with him to go over the scans (all good) and the future. He once again expressed amazement that Gary did not have the more severe side effects that many receiving the second cycle of the chemo drugs Gary was on usually experience. While it was rough enough, he had predicted far worse. We will take and celebrate every win along the way.
In July Gary will have a scope to check on the healing from the surgery and then in August a CT scan and meeting with Dr. Wiisanen. With gastric cancer, the first year he schedules scans every four months. He spoke about the anxiety that will happen before each scan that he wishes he could take away, but it is part of the folow up care needed.
It was precious to have the people in the waiting room clap as Gary rang the bell
Thank you everyone for continuing to companion with us and including us in your prayers
