Garrett’s Story

Site created on December 1, 2022

It was on Nov 28 Garrett was hit by a car in Reston, VA. We are fortunate to have his “doc” (his dad) with him. He has suffered a severe head injury, broken leg. And as time goes on it appears his lungs have also been quite compromised. We are so grateful for prayers for healing of a young man weakened by weeks in a bed unconscious, lungs that are still harboring infection and injury, and general difficulty from treating multiple systems. We are praying to be done with the medical side of his recovery in order to move on to the rehab.

Our friend has organized a fundraiser to help with Garrett’s expenses once his rehab begins.

Journal entry by Susanne Seifert

HUGE day today! Garrett was walking at PT, we were both a bit surprised at it, but wow! What a thing to see. His walk was probably about 60’ total, and he was quite worn out afterwards. He said it felt great and it was clearly a boost in his mood (not that it’s been bad). I have a video, but can’t figure out how to get it here, but my Facebook and his has it in the meantime. We had a friend give us a walker, so we have even more ways to work with him here at home.
