Journal entry by Amy Schiffman

Elizabeth Gail Willhardt was born in 1942, and left us on Wednesday night, August 18.  She was an accomplished painter whose work was exhibited in galleries, a lawyer who practiced in Detroit and later moved to Los Angeles and was admitted to the California Bar.  She was married to the late Michael Graham, author and former Detroit policeman, and spent her final years incredibly happily with her wonderful partner Max Diamond.  They loved going out to listen to jazz, and just plain enjoyed each others' company.  Throughout her ongoing battle with cancer, Gail enjoyed life, and particularly enjoyed her time with Max.  Her many friends in her various fellowships join her brother and cousin Greg in mourning the loss of this beautiful light.  More details to come, in the coming days.
