My dad was admitted to the hospital again last night for high fever (102.4), cold, shakes, nausea, high HR (151), and low BP. This is the third time this has happened since May and we all agree it's getting really old - these phantom infections seem to pop up just when we're all feeling good with where things are at.
Although that comfort could be the culprit. On Wednesday he ate fried food and a milkshake to try packing on the calories, but gallbladders - particularly the malfunctioning kind - reallllly aren't fans of fatty foods. So our current guess of the cause for this episode is, in the words of Jeff, "I fucked around and now I'm finding out."
Ultimately we'll let the medical professionals make the call. Last time they never did find out what it was, and so far this time everything is coming back clear. But after his initial bout of sepsis in May we're definitely not interested in fucking around and finding out when it comes to infection-like symptoms, so for the weekend we'll happily call KU Med home.
