Newest Update

Journal entry by Pat Tsagalakis

I’ll admit, it’s been a wonderful week of rest. Aside from celebrating evening church services and Papa Thanasi attending a few meetings and taking a few important calls -he’s been able to take a needed break. We’ve walked amidst Seattle’s blossoming glory and played games of chachoka sipping decaf on our sunny deck. He’s been attending to our garden (planting lettuce that we’ll have all summer) and focusing attention on his selected girlfriends (yup his once 40,000 bees have been in distressed mode) as they lost their queen. Sunday (along with Tom Themelis) we were able to acquire a new QUEEN. We released her Thursday into the hive with a grand introduction of singing a boisterous rendition of “God Save The Queen!” After tonight’s Akathist service we are well aware how important our Panayia aids connection with God as our mother - just as the our worker bees need a queen to save the hive!

At today’s cardiology appointment it was only great news. Lowest cholesterol numbers, fabulous blood pressure and improvement of ejection fraction (how much blood is squeezed out each beat) which verifies his ticker is doing well and almost back to normal. Woo! Hoo!

It’s clear Dr Demopulos is a magnificent artist/physician with a unique skill allowing my hubby this pain free week of recovery rather than a tough month plus if he had to go through open heart double by pass surgery. Gratefully, through Anna, Dr D’s daughter (a beloved camp agape NW volunteer) we’ve unexpectedly shared more beautiful moments together this week.

Again thank you all for your cards, texts, prayers and love.  We are so grateful for each of you! We only have one more week of lent until our glorious Holy Week and Pascha (which falls on May 5)  Indeed, there is much to celebrate and to give thanks!

Just wanted to give an update. Hoping I don’t have to revisit CaringBridge for either of us - for a very long time!
