Newest Update

Journal entry by Colleen Ferreira

2 years ago today, seems like a million years ago and just yesterday all at the same time.

We went last week for Frankie's clinic. He has become an expert on what they expect from him. He looks forward to going because he gets unlimited Switch time from us🙂

It was another good visit. Frankie's movements with his arms and shoulders showed amazing improvement- you can see that PT is working for him. His legs are becoming a bit more of an issue, he complains about them hurting quite a lot. The muscles in his legs are very tight and he needs to wear his leg braces at night more(we let it slip during the move). If he doesn't show improvement there, he will have to do serial casting- basically he would get both legs casted each week for 4 weeks. We are working hard on making sure we don't have to get this done!

The rest of Frankie's team- neurology, pulmonary, and everyone else we saw- were happy with everything Frankie has been doing. We still have the "hangry" issues and his Dr thinks even though his blood sugar is in a good range, it could still be low for Frankie. She recommended more snacking and Frankie liked that!

Frankie has really enjoyed his "celebrity" status these past few months. His sweet face has been all over the local Costcos, Publix, Walmarts, and Sam's Clubs. He has had so much fun making appearances at these places and has LOVED all of the pictures friends and family have sent of them seeing his signs! Keep sending, I'm working on a collage for him.

Circle September 9th and 10th on your calendar! Our 3rd annual #fearlessfrankie fundraiser will be happening again and just wait to see all the awesome things we have for the auction and raffles this year! The 9th will be at the FoxCreek Clubhouse and the 10th will be at Frankie's football games at Grange Hall.

We have a big goal again this year and are already accepting donations here:https://give.chfrichmond.org/campaign/fearlessfrankie/c390774
