Francisco was still in the hospital, receiving lots of fluids to flush the last of the methotrexate from his system, and Enrique and Isabela were enjoying Thanksgiving with my brother’s family in Cincinnati. I spent most of the day just hanging out with Francisco in his room. He sleeps a lot, but I just read and keep him company. We didn't have turkey and dressing this year, at least not on Thanksgiving day; the meal they were serving in the hospital cafeteria was not enticing at all. There is a rumor we will get some leftovers from my brother, and that is worth waiting for. He and his wife and her family are amazing and creative chefs!
We are home now, the day after the holiday, and that is reason enough to be thankful. Francisco is feeling pretty good. His pain is controlled, and he has energy. We will enjoy the next couple of days of quiet before he heads back to the doctor's office on Tuesday for his fourth round of R-CHOP chemotherapy. Then he will be down again for the week, but my dad arrives on Tuesday for a 10-day stay, and it will be wonderful to see him!
