Floyd’s Story

Site created on February 23, 2021

Hello My name is Brittni and I'm one of Floyd's Nieces the daughter of Becky Fiscus. I felt that this was the best was to keep Family and close Friends up to date on Floyds Health and his fight with Cancer.
Floyd Armstrong was born on April 25th, 1958 to Lorna and Dale Garner in Wahoo, Nebraska, He has five siblings Susan (Jim) Tews, Norman (Kelly) Armstrong, Becky Fiscus, Joyce Chappell, Grace Morales. Floyd currently resides in David City, NE . He has live in David City since 2019.
As many as you know Floyd was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung Cancer back in 2020. He then completed his full rounds of Chemo, then was placed on a maintenance chemotherapy that he did every third week. His Cancer is very aggressive and has now spread into other areas of his body including the Liver and Bone. We know that cancer of any type is never easy and we ask for Prayers and comfort and peace at this time.
Floyd was admitted to the David city Hospital  for the start of pneumonia on 2/12/2021. He was then Transferred to  Methodist in Omaha  on 2/15/2021 where he is still receiving care  and trying to control the pain he is having and difficulty to breath.
Please keep  Floyd in your thoughts and Prayer's as we will try to keep everyone posted with any news.

Journal entry by Brittni Palensky

Yesterday Shorty had a CT scan done again. His last scan was about two weeks ago. He hasn't had really any good days. His pain is so bad that the scan today showed us what no one wants to hear. The cancer has spread to all the liver and more areas in the back and lungs. Today he is surrounded by his close family and the ones that weren't able to be there,  but were able to talk over the phone. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
