Newest Update

Journal entry by Jess Johnson

Hi everyone, this is Karen and Jere O’Brien writing a fearless Phil update on behalf of our chosen family, the Johnsons.

K&P are one dynamic team!! Look at Phil go!! He’s a beast completing 2-3 hours of therapy a day while managing significant surgical pain and warding off infection.

Phil will be released from the hospital tomorrow - YAY- and he and Kerry will be traveling back to Virginia tomorrow evening! What warriors! Kerry and Phil are so grateful to be coming home after three very long, scary weeks.

Phil will continue his therapy and pain management here in Virginia. Please keep the prayers, good thoughts, well wishes, and love coming their way via CaringBridge. It’s going to be important for them to limit visits while Phil is still vulnerable to infection and working to get his strength back so they ask that we all be patient with their correspondence. Maybe give them until next week to acclimate before checking in or considering a visit. Re- entry will be difficult.

Meal prep will be challenging for a few weeks so we are going to set up a meal train. The link will be posted on caring bridge. I am sure Gift cards for Uber eats or DoorDash will also be welcome.

Let’s all cheer them on and give them a warm RVA welcome home!!

Sending love and blessings to all!❤️
Karen and Jere
