Journal entry by Deacon Paul Lewis —
Good Morning All, Here is a brief update from Taylor Basista, the nurse for the priests of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. Father Jacobi asked that it be shared here. Also, below a blast from the past...Father Jacobi at the Dedication Mass of Holy Spirit Church.
"I wanted to give a brief update on Fr. Jacobi’s Health. We met with Dr. Battiste yesterday and went over his latest MRI results. The tumor area is still dormant (cells not completely eradicated but also no longer active) and the surrounding ventricles (blood vessels surrounding the tumor area) have shrunk. This is great news that he is continuing to respond to treatment. He will begin his 10th cycle of chemo on April 23rd with his last (12th cycle) happening in mid-June. The plan will be to continue the OpTune/Array’s (the thing we wears on his head) for at least 12 more months through June of 2025. Once we have ended the 12th cycle of chemo in June, we will continue to get MRI’s every 8 weeks to monitor for tumor activity/regrowth.
Please continue to pray for complete cancer remission, and while we're at it, a complete recovery of his eye sight.
Father Jacobi is most grateful for all of your prayers.
Blessed Stanley Rother, pray for him!
