Newest Update

Journal entry by Faith Fischel

Happy New Year everyone!  2024 is going to be a great year!  I kicked 2023 in the rear and I am not looking back!

Great news- I now have had two blood tests to test for the CtDNA for cancer detection and both have come back negative- which means- no breast cancer is currently detected in my blood!  WOOOOO HOOOOO!

What's next?  I will be on a medication called Nerlynx (Neratinib), which is a targeted anti-cancer agent for Her2+.  I will be on it for a year.  Let's hope that I don't have to deal with the side effects that most have- horrible stomach issues, headaches and bone pain.  I am confident that it will have more positive benefits than the negative ones!

Everyone has been so awesome- my Child Find team got me a cake and tiara to celebrate my last day of treatment, we celebrated at the infusion center on Dec. 22 by eating cake and toasting with sparkling cider and ringing the bell and my 'little' cousins (ages 24-29!) celebrated with Dave and I on Christmas Eve with eating Japanese food and treating me to lots of baked goodies and flowers....I am truly blessed!!

I am thankful for my updated health and my friends who have been going through treatments with me that are now showing no evidence of cancer!  Thank you to the researchers who have helped us all achieve this status!

Have a wonderful 2024 filled with love, happiness and good health. I'll only update now if there is additional information to share.  Let's hope it stays status quo!

Take care and thank you all so much for the love and support!

Faith
