I don't have adequate words to tell you that my dear Ev passed away yesterday morning at the Minneapolis VA Hospital. Our prayers were answered that he would pass peacefully and without pain. He was surrounded by family who had several sacred hours with him to laugh and cry and hug and say goodbye.

It has been a long and oftentimes difficult journey for Ev as he tried to live as long as possible with pancreatic cancer. As you know, throughout these past two years and three months since his diagnosis, he continued to live positively and bravely in spirit until yesterday when his body grew so very tired.

A celebration of Ev's precious, wonderful life will be held this Saturday, March 18 at All Saints Lutheran Church, 8100 Belden Boulevard, Cottage Grove. Visitation begins at 10am, with the service at 11am, followed by lunch and fellowship with remembrances of this dear man who graced our lives.

As I send you this final Caring Bridge update, I want to thank you all for the loving support you have provided Ev and me and our family during this life-changing journey.
