Evie’s Story

Site created on January 8, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Evie was diagnosed with a high risk neuroblastoma in the wee early morning of Christmas (the biggest lump of coal).  In effect, she has a large solid tumor proximate to her kidney with some indicia that it has spread to her bone marrow.  She is being treated at Children’s Hospital in Seattle and has started on her journey back to health with one chemo session in the books. The road is long and bumpy, but if anyone can handle it, it is our funny, silly, snuggly string bean.  She’s a warrior in all the right ways. This will be her story.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Laura Hawes Young

All- I won’t be updating this much anymore, but we did want to let Evie’s army know that we will be hosting a celebration of her life on May 27, 2024 at Magnuson Park in Seattle. Evie loved the park and this one is special and located right on Lake Washington. We are still working out many of the details but have the space all day so we will try to accommodate folks coming back from Memorial Day vacations.
Love Laura, Pete and Mason
