Journal entry by Amber Zaccone

Evi is now 5 pounds, 9 ounces. She has been going up and down on weight the last few days due to the switch to formula with her breast milk. November 30th she drank her full bottle for the first time. Today she drank 3 full bottles. She is maintaining her oxygen levels off the cpap help and is keeping her breathing on track. She hasnt had an episode since the 26th of November. They finally figured out the pooping and now thats on track. Mom and dad started doing the items at the hospital they require for discharge today. 🤩🤩 We found out this week that she needs to have the hole in her heart repaired and have her thumb on her right hand removed. The good news is that the doctors do these surgeries all the time and they said she will be good. The nurses told us they want to take us all home lol they said Evi is one lucky girl to have us and will be spoiled lol they are happy she gets to go home soon, but they said they will miss her. They also told us we are light years ahead of others in the NICU with taking care of her. They said we are doing a great job!! It was certainly a very positive week.
