Journal entry by Laurey Nelson —

I'll never take these appointments for granted! If I calculated correctly, we have officially hit the halfway mark of post cancer scans for this little warrior. Six more to go over the next year and a half. We can swing that!

We're tired, and had to brave through a downpour to get to the hospital, but Ethan was such a good sport, and was so joyful during his x-ray, ultrasound, and surprise blood draw. He always steals the hearts of all the nurses, and he is quite the personality in public. He thought it was cute to take off running in the cafeteria after he ate his late lunch, and he had everybody laughing by making his mama run around like a rooster trying to catch him! 🤣

God's gracious hand reminds me that even in really difficult times, like cancer, or any other tough trial that may come about, we can still laugh and be joyful in the Lord. Those feelings can co-exist, because God made us perfectly complex and capable to experience many things at once.

I always think about the children undergoing chemotherapy, the family getting the news that their loved one has lost their life, and those who are just getting the news about cancer. I've been in a few of those spots, and it is hard. But the peace of God truly will surpass all understanding if you stay rooted in Him. Always be building your relationship with the Lord, because when trials do come, you will be able to stand in His goodness and in His strength. Praise the Lord! 🙌🩵🎗

‭‭

"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

~ Philippians 4:7
