Journal entry by Sandi Huster

I had the privilege to take Ethan and his father to several doctor appointments last week.  The surgeons & doctors were extremely pleased with his progress. They couldn’t believe he was walking in on his own accord. They contribute the healing to him being 16 years old and a lot of fight in him.  Ethan was able to get his “turtle shell”, aka back brace off. He needs to keep it for the days that gets too much strain on him or if issues arise.  He also got his cast off his right arm. The surgeon told him he is limited on what he can do and needs to be very, very careful. He was given a new brace for his arm. He is not to lift anything over 5 pounds, needs to do physical therapy to it several times a day.  They removed some stary strips and packing from his abdominal.  Ethan was released to go back to school as tolerated. He was super excited about getting back to some sort of normalcy.  He is disappointed that he doesn’t get to go hunting this year but knows it won’t last forever. He will need that additional time for healing. No doubt it will take time to get back to feeling 💯. We will keep you updated. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!
