Wow, what a blessing the last year has been! There is no way to make this post without first giving thanks to God! We have spent the last year and some change enjoying the craziness of having a mostly normal life, without much thought of Cancer treatments. Don't get me wrong, it's always on Esther's mind... but with stable tumors, she has been able to enjoy the time with the kids, her job, "room mom" for Madilyn, and just being present for all the life events over the past year.
Now that I have given the thanks to God, it's time to ask for your prayers. Esther had scans about 2 weeks ago. As you may recall, we have been blessed with stable tumors following her PRRT treatment at UCSF in 2022. This report was different...They stopped counting the tumors in her liver giving updates on size and said there are "new" and "many".
We aren't exactly sure what that means, and await UCSD/UCSF tumor boards and doctors appointments. The last time we had a report like this, it led to her second surgery removing half her liver in San Francisco. We are hoping there are some less invasive procedures we can explore first before another surgery. I will let you know what we find out over the next 2 weeks after various appointments.
In short, please continue to keep us in your prayers as we find out more and explore next steps.
