Today we need your prayers!!!

Today Erin decided she needed to get seen by her PCP due to recently having severe left leg pain. We knew she may be uncomfortable due to her not having normal function of it and muscles becoming stiff. However, the pain she has been feeling is more than muscle stiffness. We are beginning to think it’s actually neurological. She is going to begin taking gabapentin in hopes this will relieve some of this pain. She also is still having some headaches and incisional pain but currently the incision looks to be healing well! 🙏🏻 Upon assessing her today, they noted her left calf and foot were pretty swollen, tender to touch, red and warm so she was sent to the hospital to have a Doppler done to check for clotting.   The Doppler showed no signs of clotting currently but they stressed the possibility of potentially happening and needing to keep a close eye on it. This pain has made getting around more difficult as anything putting slight pressure on her foot and leg is painful! ☹️For now we are home trying to manage and anxiously awaiting Thursday to come as this day will be her two week follow up in Omaha! to receive more answers and hopefully a treatment plan following her recovery! We are hoping at this appointment that she will have a repeat MRI to check the progress of her brain swelling as well as this would hopefully rule out and further or potential brain related trauma causing the delay in functionality of her foot. We also pray that at this appointment they are able to remove the final sutures and it has healed well enough that the risk of swelling and infection continues to lower with each day. I am also hopeful and going to push for further in-depth assessment and evaluation of her foot due to worsening nerve pain as well as new symptoms she is having.  I ask you all to please continue to pray for us as we hope for decreased pain,  to receive more detailed answers and explanations and hopefully able to begin creating a treatment plan following her recovery! Here’s to Thursday, hoping to a good report of improved or decreased brain swelling and answers as well as future plans in the works! ❤️
