Journal

We had a really good visit with Dr. Ram and his team yesterday, following Erin's PET scan and MRI yesterday. We are happy to report that Erin continues to tolerate her targeted therapy medicine well.

Most notably, Erin's PET scan showed no areas of concern. There is one spot in her left lung that Dr. Ram referred to as "fuzzy". That spot doesn't present the way a cancerous growth typically would, so it may still be an inflammatory residue from the trauma of her surgery last fall. In any case, they will keep an eye on that spot in the future to make sure it doesn't turn into something that needs to be addressed. In other good news, the growths in Erin's bones have actually shrunk a little bit, which is pretty incredible as we had been told that tumors in hard tissue rarely recede, and the goal is to simply keep them from growing. We are incredibly grateful for this report.

She does continue to have some discomfort in her right leg, related to the tumor in her femur, which tends to manifest itself in the evenings, and can interfere with her sleeping. However, as long as Erin takes a couple ibuprofen before bed, she doesn't have any problem sleeping through the night. Dr. Ram and his team were encouraged by that and are very comfortable with not doing anything further on that issue at this point.

As evidence of how well she is doing, and even how well her leg is holding up, Erin spent last weekend in New York City with her sister, Kerri, and with Dyllon and Mattie, walking all over the city. You can see from the attached picture how much fun they had!

Thanks, as always for all of your love and support. We continue to be humbled and grateful for your prayers, acts of kindness and words of encouragement.
