Newest Update

Journal entry by Erin B

It’s been a minute… I suppose that’s a good thing! The holidays were fantastic and have come and gone. My parents were able to join us in Texas for a Christmas here… first one I’ve ever hosted. Spring is upon us with baseball season underway… busy… we will be watching Ryan in his senior season… always bittersweet! Ethan continues to study hard and golf, and Tyler is loving his life over in Tallahassee going to school and interning with the FSU football strength and conditioning coaches and football team.

I’ve been feeling pretty well, minus the joint pain in my hands and knees.  Excruciating a few weeks ago, to almost non existent a few days later.  After explaining to my doctor, he referred me to a rheumatologist to see about managing joint pain( which can be a side effect from my meds). Well, turns out it’s actually not a direct side effect of my chemo medication, but rather, I also have a new diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. So a couple things… It has a name and I’m not crazy or whining… and there will be the ability to have a plan to manage it… along with all the other plans for my “things” 🤪.
As far as the lung cancer goes, I had great bloodwork the last couple months, and my most recent chest CT(last week in January) continues to show that my lymph nodes have continued to shrink and my “tumor area” remains stable… my oncologist and team were happy with the scans… therefore, I am too!

I continue to appreciate the check ins, the texts, the friendships, and most of all the prayers and love sent daily to myself and my boys! Y’all are simply the best!

For now we stay the course and pray that the protocol continues to stop cancer from growing and continues to shrink the “ick”. I’ve told my doctor that I need at least 40 more years… so that’s the goal! Lots of love to y’all near and far reading my updates! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
