You have so, so many sociologists (like myself) who may not know you personally, but on who you have left an indelible intellectual mark and who will think about you often.

Dear prof. Wright, we don't know each other, but your work has been inspiring. I wrote to you some years ago, when planning to study abroad. Reading your diary is truly encouraging. There is no reason to fear death, human life is much more frightening.

Erik is a wonderful person. He has touched many lives. My thoughts and prayers are with him.
