Eric’s Story

Site created on May 28, 2020

As many of you know, Eric was rushed to the hospital (Memorial-Hermann/Woodlands) yesterday afternoon, May 27th.  Upon arrival it was determined that he had a brain aneurysm that had ruptured, resulting in bleeding around the brain.  He has remained in a coma, which is typical of a brain aneurysm.

Last night the team of doctors performed two procedures: first, to relieve the pressure on the brain, and second, to stop the bleeding.  These were successful.  He remains in ICU, and will probably be there for several days at the least.  We really won't know the severity of the damage until he awakens from the coma and the doctors can further test.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only Rachel, Wade and Linda T. have been the only ones authorized to enter the hospital.  They were relieved to be able to see Eric around 11:30pm last night and again in shifts today.  Doctors are encouraging them to speak to Eric, as he should be able to hear them!

The Twardowski and Knutson extended families are so moved and grateful for the constant prayers and support you have all shown over the last 24 hours!  We certainly feel the LOVE! We appreciate the offers for food and help, but ask you hold tight... As we progress on this journey, I'm sure there will be many opportunities for you to support the family.  For now, just keep those prayers coming!  We know they are working!!

As you can imagine, it's been exhausting and overwhelming for Rachel and family to try and return all the calls and texts.  We thank you for your love and patience as we get through this together.

Hopefully, daily updates to this site will help us all keep in touch, and distribute the latest info in a timely manner.

Thanks again for lifting Eric up!  You are all such a blessing to us!
