Eric "Big E"’s Story

Site created on November 17, 2022

Big E was hospitalized in early November after months of weight loss and feeling unwell.  They have diagnosed him with Renal Cell Carcinoma or Kidney cancer.  The cancer has spread to his lungs and bones.   It is not curable but it is treatable.  With some luck and a lot of prayers, Eric will have a few good years yet!  He will be doing chemo and infusion therapy on an outpatient basis.  Hopefully he gets to go home tomorrow (Friday November 18th).

When I asked Eric what he wanted me to say on his page he said this....

"Tell all those kids at the High School I love them.  Tell them I want them to go back to the "old ways", start respecting their teachers, parents and each other!  Stop being cruel to each other and be respectful.  I'm going to fight this and I want to get better, but I really want all of those kids to make a difference and be kind to one another."

If that doesn't sum up who Big E is I don't know what does.  He has looked out for so many of our children through the years at the High School I don't know how we can ever thank him.

He never met a stranger as the saying goes!

Journal entry by Dennis Clemenson

Hello friends, I visited with Big E and his trusty brother caretaker, Rusty. Big E is not out of the woods yet, but the 2 masses in his brain were radiated. He will have a PET scan next week to see if there are any more hot spots shown. He was in his natural good spirits and we talked about some of our hunting experiences! Had some great laughs with memories from Rusty, Big E and me. I told him he had to eat more, as he has no appetite, even though he has to force himself to eat.He also has MRI scheduled for April to see how much brain tumors have responded to radiation. Please keep Big E in your prayers, as he has a way yet to go🙏🏼
