Journal entry by Maggie Fast —
Emmett has had a really big month with lots of positive news. We trekked down to KC for the second time on April 1st to follow up with the team there. They also wanted to do blood work there as they could do an extended DNA panel and immune function tests. On April 9th, Emmett’s KC team let us know his t-cells were over a 1000! This means we can slowly start getting out of our bubble. We still need to be careful and avoid ill people and large crowds, but this has been a huge weight off our shoulders. Because of this new freedom we’ve been able to see a few people and celebrate Amelia’s 3rd birthday by having a small family get together.
This week Emmett will have his line removed and we are all so excited to not have weekly clinic visits for dressing changes anymore. We’re also looking forward to a real bath for our boy!
We hope that Emmett’s immune system continues to build over the next several months!
