Happy Mother’s Day! Emmy is officially done with Phase 4! 🙌🏻 Praise the Lord, we are so grateful! She handled the last round like a champ. Ryan and I were even able to attend a ROC Solid Foundation Fundraiser while she was receiving treatment. I’m so thankful for my mom staying with her and encouraging me to go.
Thank you so much to my parents, in-laws and
friends who have helped us in so many ways. They have loved my children, picked them up, stayed with them, helped me process things, and so much more. I have a wonderful mom, mother-in-law, mentors, and mom friends who are helping carry us through this!
I am so proud of Emmy. I am so proud of Hudson. They have blown me away this year with their love and resilience. The Lord has been so near to us and I wouldn't trade the growth we have experienced as a family. It is all worth it to know Jesus better and to be strengthened as a family.
Today I am thinking about all of the moms who are struggling. Those who have lost children to cancer. Those who are in the trenches helping their child fight cancer. Those with strained relationships with family. Those who lost their mother. Those who desperately want to be a mother. Those who are parenting alone… and so many more. There are so many factors that can make this day hard.
I want to encourage you with some lyrics to a song Emmy has been boldly singing in the car with me lately! One of my favorite things is to hold her hand while we bravely shout these words to the Lord together!
You are the voice that calms the storm inside me
Castle walls that stand around me
All this time, my guardian was You
You are the light that shines in every tunnel
There in the past, You'll be there tomorrow
All my life, Your love was breaking through
It's always been You
It's always been You
Prayer Requests:
- The next phase should start this Friday or soon after (it is immunotherapy she has done before).
- Hudson’s school year is almost over so our schedule will get a bit trickier with him home, her having appointments, and me working.
- Our family will know Christ more deeply and share His love well.
