Emma’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Sooo...Emma had an accident near our house with the Ranger Friday night around 7pm. She thankfully was able to call 911 and me before her phone died. Long story short, she got flown from the scene to HCMC. Besides the gash on her forehead, she sustained a very severe lower leg injury. They brought her into surgery before we got here to evaluate the damage and to clean out the wound. She will continue to have surgeries every other day until they are confident they have the area clean enough to start repairing the leg. Sounds like we will be here for about 2 weeks. Right now it is just super crucial for it to not get infected. We are so extremely thankful that is the worst of it. We are definitely counting our blessings!! We thank all of you for the prayers and well wishes! She is feeling the love and in good spirits. She's got a long road to recovery but she is HERE, and she is tough!!!!

Emma had surgery on her leg on Tuesday and all went well.  The doctor said he was successfully able to remove the ossification in the leg.  Now our hope is that it doesn't grow back. She will take a med for 3 weeks in the hopes it will help with that.  Shes in some pain but that is to be expected.

We are all looking forward to Christmas and what the new year will bring! This next year just has to be better! 2021 brought a lot of hardship and pain to so many people in our community,  young and old! We are so thankful for all the thoughts and prayers from everyone! It is amazing how all your kind words help us all get through these hard times! Thank you for that!

Merry Christmas and happy new year to you all!!
Love, the Braulicks
