Approximately at 7:32PM Tuesday night Emily was heading Westbound on 571 when she struck into the back end of a disabled semi-truck, that was parked on the road. She was estimated to be going 60mph and was not wearing a seatbelt. Upon striking into the back of the semi-truck Emily’s vehicles hood was pushed up to the windshield. Upon impact Emily’s head went through the windshield where it slammed into the hood of her vehicle, resulting in her severe head trauma. There was a sheriffs deputy that was not even dispatched to the accident that made it there before anyone else. By the time the paramedics arrived to the scene careflight had already been called in. From the scene of the accident they careflighted Emily to the Miami Valley ICU. Friends and family started arriving at the hospital to rally behind Emily and pray. The waiting room was full of family and friends by 12:00AM. Around 12:20AM the a doctor and nurse came out into the waiting room with the first update. At this time they said that Emily was stable, and started to explain everything that was happening. They started by explaining that Emily had suffered many fractures to her face and skull, there was bleeding in the brain along with major swelling. They had to put a pressure plate monitor on due to there being so many fractures they were afraid they weren’t getting a proper reading so that’s when they placed the second one in. Emily sufferend no broken ribs or anything of that sort besides all of the head teams, she does have buising on her lungs. After the doctor and nurse left the room family and friends gathered in a prayer chain and started to pray for Emily. Shortly the nurse started to allow small groups to go in and visit Emily.
