Emily’s Story

Site created on October 26, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Emily Gosnell. Emily gave birth to beautiful baby Sydney Ann on October 24th via C Section after several days of labor. While recovering at the hospital Emily experiencedshortness of breath and after further examination, two blood clots were found in her lungs. She’s in the ICU under excellent care and monitoring.  She is off oxygen and hoping to move out of the ICU tomorrow and into a regular hospital room until Monday (October 29).  She is in good spirits and really appreciates the excellent care of the doctors and nurses and friends and family rallying around her, Tim and baby Sydney. We are using this website to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.  Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Tim Gosnell

Emily and her sister Jen were just sleeping in Emily's ICU room when I wheeled Sydney over to say hi this morning, so I let them sleep. However, I was disappointed to see Emily didn't charge her phone last night since we are sharing a phone charger at the moment 😋 haha.
Saturday the 27th was the best day for Emily since going to the ICU. Her pain is managed better, and looks like her heart rate is trending in the right direction, but still high. Emily has said how its just so weird to feel out of breath and have high pulse when she has been leading body pump classes at the YMCA for over a year now. She hopes to be able to get out of bed and do increasingly more activity today. Emily has friends and much of my family either within Indy or a couple hours drive. Emily's amazing sister and brother Jen and Chris fly out this afternoon after being here helping to since Thursday. Thank you Courtney and Katie and/or whoever else manages/reads/posts on this page for Emily, this is a great way for us to be able to communicate more efficiently with those who love Emily. I will try to post pictures!
