Elliott’s Story

Site created on August 22, 2020

Quick overview:
-at 20 weeks gestation we found out that Elliott is missing his right forearm
-my bloodwork was screened for genetic disorders and Trisomy 18 (Edwards Syndrome) was detected
-ultrasound revealed Elliott is very small (3rd percentile) with other abnormalities being detected
-combining the evidence from the bloodwork and ultrasound, we were advised to expect Elliott to have Trisomy 18
Here's a quick overview of what that means https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/trisomy-18

We have been surrounded by love.  Wow.  What an amazing group of people we are blessed to know.  We held Elliott's funeral tonight, and honestly...it was beautiful.  I was given space to cry and think and laugh and be encouraged and eat cookies!

Jesus, thank you for the community of great people you've given us.  I am overwhelmed by love.
