Elliana’s Story

Site created on February 8, 2023

Ellie Kate was diagnosed with an encephalocele at 13W 6D gestation. The doctor said it was 100% fatal and that we would be lucky if we made it to term and if we did we may have minutes, a few hours tops. We knew there was nothing our God could not heal so we prayed HARD. We prayed my entire pregnancy that he heal our baby girl and give us the chance to know her. Towards the end of my pregnancy we were told she was not growing and that if we wanted a chance to meet her it was best to have her early. We went in at 37 weeks to have her via c section and our girl came out SCREAMING. The most beautiful sound either of us ever heard, she spent a few days in the NICU and was sent home on hospice still with a fatal prognosis but after 10 days we knew our girl was a fighter and we had to start fighting for her! We started researching the top pediatric neurosurgeons around the country and decided on CHOP. We had a few stays locally in the PICU before we finally made it to Philadelphia. Ellie has had her encephalocele removal surgery and has done great, she still has another surgery down the road but we know it is all in Gods hands! He worked a miracle saving our baby girl, He got us to Philadelphia in His perfect timing and has been with our little family every step of our journey! He has big plans for our little girl and our family! We plan to bring our knowledge home to Louisiana and advocate for other families with similar conditions to teach them there is surgery, there is hope, there is a God capable of handling ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING you’re faced with medical or not!

Since Ellie has been home, we are going none stop! I’ve decided to make a Facebook group for those following Ellie since her updates are more cute pictures & videos of her progress instead of long posts about what is going on. We would love for anyone and everyone that wants to continue following her journey join Ellie’s Entourage. 💗
