Journal entry by Ellen Nicoll

I have had 2 treatments since my last entry both of which went well. The first was the chemo along with a 2 hour IV to introduce healthier platelets. Because it was going to be a long afternoon we chose to stay for the night. I was feeling well enough that we were able to walk to a small café where we sat and had dinner, the first time out in a long time.

The next treatment was chemo only. We met with the DR after and received a good report from her. My red blood cells are showing a slight improvement which my body has been able to do on its own rather than with the help of a transfusion. She also feels that I am strong enough that in time she can collect some of my own stem cells and cultivate them should I need stem cell treatment down the road. I will be getting my own cells back which is much better than to receive someone else's cells.

July 2nds treatment day will be a day off for me but I will have to make it up. Our plan is to head to VT for a week after this Fridays appointment to relax and celebrate the 4th.
