A nice note from John A., who worked with Ellen for many years at Coldwell Banker.

I spent all my time in brokerage in the office with Ellen. She was truly one of a kind, a lady of all seasons and Queen of the Esplanade. At her peak, she was formidable and a great broker. She did things her way and when caught out of bounds (rarely) asked for convincing forgiveness which was always granted. In her day, she was a legend, an icon and knew her stuff and more than she let on. She spoke French, English and “ brokerease” fluent in all. She had a definite “je ne sais quoi” which she rode with the wind , capes flying,  humming along seemingly without a care in the world. She had plenty of cares but didn’t wear them on her sleeve. She experienced personal tragedies but always soldiered on. As most of us who knew her, know she was part of the fabric of our daily lives here at CBRB and cared very much how we were all faring. She definitely was loyal and could have gone to so many other firms but stayed where she was appreciated and supported. Sadly, we lost a dedicated, tried and true friend of our craft. I cannot believe she has gone elsewhere and will not just pop in for a minute or two to get an offer, drop off a contract or just touch base. She was key piece of the “mother ship” which we built the office on. She did her job and we must not let her down and maintain the pace she set. Missing you, John
