Elizabeth’s Story

Site created on May 6, 2021

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh without fear of the future. (Proverbs 31:25)

This is my prayer as I begin my battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). As a 41-year-old, nursing mother this is, obviously, the last thing we expected to deal with in this season. But God, having ordained every day of our lives before one of them came to be, knows the plans that He has for us, and He promises to use this for our good and His glory.

I am grateful for the loving, prayerful, stalwart support of my husband, Joshua. We have a stellar oncology team at WFBMC. My children are resilient little prayer warriors. This site is a place for updates and ways to help, so thank you for visiting! In the meantime, we will continue to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.

As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise You more and more. (Psalm 71:14)

Where to start with today's gratitude for the 2-year-anniversary of my last Big Chemo? I've started by perusing this Caring Bridge site just to see how far we've come. What a fun (yes, FUN!), day of surprise celebration and fireside shenanigans with my lovely and faithful friend!

We still had a long way to go at this time two years ago -- surgery, radiation, and 5+ months of oral chemotherapy -- but the "big guns" poison was finished! When I think back on that time, I remember the JOY, support, humor, and love that enveloped me and my family. People I didn't know became good friends and close support for my family during that time.

Perhaps you'll rejoice with us as we celebrate being on the FAR other side of that journey!

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness! (Psalm 29:2)
