What a difference a few days makes. Since I last posted Elizabeth has experienced what I would describe as a miraculous turnaround. She was discharged from the ICU to the step down floor (heart failure service) Her kidneys are showing signs that they are recovering, and she appears to be responding to the oral diuretics. The nephrologist is hopeful that Elizabeth won't need dialysis going forward. Her stomach injury continues to heal so she is not requiring pain medication as often. We are hopeful she can be discharged before Anna's play on 11/17! We acknowledge that Elizabeth is still in end stage heart failure and that her time with us is limited, but the opportunity to have a better quality of life for whatever time she has left is welcome.
Thank you to all who have offered us up in prayer, we are grateful that Elizabeth has received the gift of healing and we believe in the power of prayer. We are grateful for all the support from both near and far- we are truly blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.
