On August 8th,  18 year old and recent Rancho Bernardo HS Graduate Elizabeth Garrett was involved in a horrific car crash near the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Liz and three of her friends were rushed to the hospital following the accident. Elizabeth sustained severe internal injuries to her abdomen and internal organs, several broken bones and a serious injury to her back causing severe spinal cord damage. It's a miracle Elizabeth is alive! 

Elizabeth has had three surgeries so far and the doctors are marveling at how remarkably well she is doing. She remains in critical condition in the ICU, and faces more surgeries on her abdomen, left arm and wrist, and spine. She has extensive internal injuries with paralysis from the waist down.  It will be a very long road of recovery. Elizabeth will need more surgeries, therapy, and rehabilitation. The Garretts will also need to refit their house to accomodate her wheelchair. 

The Garrett Family are longtime residents of Westwood/Rancho Bernardo and have been serving in their church and community for many years. 

Please continue to pray for miraculous healing of Elizabeth's injuries, rest for Liz and her family, and for God's peace to surround them.

Please pray for insight and wisdom for doctors as they look for answers to treat Elizabeth's daily nausea and pain. Also, please pray for good healing from this last surgery and that any problems would be caught and able to be treated. Additionally, please pray for God's timing and direction of where Elizabeth should go from here, and when she should go. Thank you so much for lifting Elizabeth and the Garrett family up in prayer!
