Journal entry by kim currie

Hello Friends! Just wanted to give a quick update on Elizabeth after all this time. She’s doing so great! From a medical standpoint the big news is  She began swallowing through a straw last week. That was huge because she lost her suck reflex while being intubated. This was her first time to suck since before her heart surgery. Lord willing, this will enable her to take liquids orally and eventually no longer need the g-tube. We have a swallow study scheduled for this Thursday morning which will allow us to see which consistencies of liquids she can tolerate.

We found out she has sleep apnea so she wears oxygen at night and handles it like a champ.

Elizabeth is rolling and getting close to sitting up independently . We’re receiving excellent therapy for her through Hand in Hand and The Bell Center.

She has the sweetest demeanor and is so adored by her siblings. We’re grateful for how she’s blessed and unified our family.

We’re so grateful to you for your love and prayers for us! God has used you to humble us by His love for us.
