Family and Friends

It is with a heavy heart to write this. Mum is home with her eternal Father. She passed peacefully this morning at 6am.

Mum arrived at Simon's on Wednesday around 2:40. We were all there with her. She didn't open her eyes much yet said a couple of words. Made us laugh...I said "Mum" and she said "Mum".  I said "Hey Mum" and she said "What". I said "Hi Mum" and she said "HI". I asked if she was in pain and she said "No".  Anna Mae said "Hi Nanny how are you?" and she responded "What baby" It was a nice surprise to hear her voice.

Yesterday, she didn't speak yet she opened her eyes multiple times and saw all of us there.  We all had a chance to look into her eyes. She turned her head and looked towards the direction of a voice. We had a slight rough day yet around 9pm she was peaceful. She was absolutely beautiful.

Simon, Lisa and I were with Mum this morning as she passed. Incredibly thankful that we were with her. The rest of the family came to be with her before she left the house.

Mum's wish is to be cremated.  With the Coronavirus social distancing, we have been given the gift of time to plan her Celebration of Life. Mum loved gardens, birds and sunshine. Our plan is to hold a ceremony in the summer at Cantigny. It will be just as beautiful as she was.

If you feel lead to, we are asking for donations to Wheaton Christian Grammar School in Mum's honor. Mum loved being part of WCGS because she was able to have more time with Emma and Anna Mae. She became fond of many children...countless....as recess supervisor. Mum attended multiple field trips, class parties and school functions. She was the ultimate cheerleader for the girls. Today, she was snuggly wrapped in her WCGS blanket.  She will be remembered as Nanny, Nanny Ann, and the Tic Tac Lady.

We have received some beautiful sentiments:

"God gained a beautiful angel."

"Now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on Earth has read: which goes on forever; in which every chapter is better than the one before." C.S. Lewis

Romans 8:38-39 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
