Elias’s Story

Site created on January 10, 2023

Hey everyone! This is the CaringBridge page for our newborn little, Elias. We are overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation for all those who have reached out with well wishes, prayer and support and would like to be able to communicate with everyone, as well as keep everyone updated in one place. This is that place! Thank you for all of your continued prayer and support as we go through this NICU journey with Elias.

WE'RE HOME!

Elias is Hebrew for "My God is Yahweh", and God's hand on Elias has been evident throughout this whole experience. 3 and a half weeks in the NICU and we were finally able to bring Elias home!  This kid takes hurdles two at a time.  3 weeks ago they said he was he would likely not be developed enough to do what he needed to in order to go home before the end of the month.  But challenge by challenge he climbed the wall and jumped down the other side landing like a superhero when it came to breathing on his own, maintaining his own temp, and learning how to feed.  Even when he contracted an unusual presentation of RSV he persevered and powered through.

Thank you all for your constant prayers for our boy.  There is so much to give praise for over the past few weeks, and so much more even just today!

Being he is out of the NICU and back home, updates on CaringBridge will likely be more sparse, but as he still has 3 weeks till he's full term (he'd be 37 weeks gestation tomorrow) we know that there will still be some work to do.  So for now we will keep this page updated with his well child visits, hopefully only to bring you all more good news!

Elias was feeling extra smiley after arriving home today, and we were able to capture a couple of his sweet smiles posted here :)
