Edward “John” Yuiska III, age 53, beloved husband, father, son, brother and warrior, died peacefully at home on March 11th, 2021, after a prolonged battle with cancer.

John was an old soul, an eternal optimist, a jokester, and a style maven. He loved funky clothes, and could really rock a hat. He was extremely laid back, yet crystal clear about his beliefs and ideals. His incredible intelligence, paired with the uncanny ability to see trends before anyone else, made his career path varied and interesting. New York City was the dream and he made it happen. He landed his first job at DDB and after several years opened his own broadcast design firm, Superfi, with a partner.

While in NYC, he met Lisette Buiani. They fell in love and married soon after. Their first son, Anders was born in a tiny apartment on the west side – which they quickly outgrew. New Jersey was next, into a large old house they lovingly restored together. Finn, soon followed to complete their family.

After 9/11 things changed, so they headed down to South Florida to be closer to family. John continued to slay at several area creative agencies until he landed at Perficient, designing mobile apps.

John was an incredibly hands-on husband and father, as well as a fiercely loyal friend. Hockey, lacrosse, homework, learning to drive, cooking, DIY projects, and dates with his wife - John did it all with a smile and was always a pleasure to be around.

Music was incredibly important to John and he had an eclectic taste he was happy to share with anyone who was interested. The man could make an incredible playlist and did so whenever asked. Warm, kind and caring, everyone who met John loved him, and he has a slew of friends all over the world that can attest to that!

John is survived by his wife Lisette Buiani and his sons, Anders and Finn, his sister, Julie page, his parents Kathi & Ed Yuiska, and his in-laws, Jim & Elizabeth Buiani. There will be a Celebration of Life in August of 2021.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Friends of South Florida Music in his name. There is no way to add that this is a gift in John's name on the current website so if you do choose to make a donation, kindly follow it up with an email to Joy at info@friendsofsfm.org and she will send us an acknowledgment of your gift.
