Eden’s Story

Site created on July 23, 2023

Eden is our sweet three month old daughter who is diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She has a double outlet right ventricle with a large sub-aortic ventricular septal defect (VSD) and a mital valve regurgitation. Edie will have open-heart surgery to hopefully resolve these issues.

Keeping this short because I have the 2am shift so I need to sleep!

We were able to keep the feeding tube away from Edie today! She vomited earlier this morning but took her bottles throughout the day well. Her lungs are still a little junky but less than yesterday, and her breathing is definitely regulated. She’s also back on her heart medication 🙂

She is still on oxygen and that seems to be what’s really keeping us at this point. It’s hardly any support, but for some reason, when we turn it off she dips and can’t sustain it on her own. We are praying she can kick it tonight or tomorrow.

Today I got some special time with Lennon which is so refreshing. It is heavy to be at the house and walk past Edie’s empty room, but we are hoping Monday we’ll all be home again.

Thank you for praying for Edie.
