Ed’s Story

Site created on April 12, 2018

Hi Everyone - The family created this website to help keep everyone up to date on Chap's health situation.   It will hopefully be a centralized place where we can give updates, and a place where stories can be shared among his family and friends.  To bring everyone up to speed - Chap fell down a flight of stairs on 4/1/18.  He suffered a large amount of injuries including: a broken collarbone, 10 broken ribs (one which pierced his lung), and a head injury where he had blood on and in his brain.  He was taken to KU Medical Center where he remained until 4/11 when he was transferred to Brookdale Rosehill Assisted Living Center in Shawnee, KS.  As of 4/11 he remains largely unresponsive.  He is breathing on his own, but is still being fed through a feeding tube.  Please keep Chap in your thoughts and prayers.  The family will post updates to this website.

Journal entry by Joe Walsh

The family would like to thank everyone for all of your thoughts, prayers, texts, calls, hugs, etc. as we have gone through these very long 7 weeks.  Chap would have been very humbled by everyone's concerns and we are as well.  Feel free to keep in touch with us as we continue to grieve and go through the year of "firsts" (ex:  Father's Day, Birthday, Holidays, etc).
With love, The Chapman Family
