There is no place like HOME! 💙

Easton is finally home! A few days starting the steroids and getting all the correct medications to jive with one another he started talking again! And moving around! And eating, a lot! As the days have gone on his words have gotten clearer and he has gotten his mobility back! It has been a LONG journey, but he is finally back to the fiery little boy he was before he got really sick.

Our last few facetimes together he’s been so happy to show me his toys, make silly faces at me, and show me how he eats. Of course he has to pretend to feed me and laughs when I blow my cheeks up and pretend that I have the food packed in my mouth! I will never take these moments for granted. We all have so many blessings in our lives, yet often we fail to notice them or simply take them for granted.

I think we all need to be reminded to enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things!

The last hurrah….

The doctors took a final look in Easton’s mouth and scoped down his throat and into his stomach and all the lesions he had were about 95% healed! Finally, some good news! The feeding tube will remain in he stomach for a few more weeks. They will use it as back up if they feel he is not getting enough fluids or calories.

Unfortunately, after Easton came home from Rochester, he did catch a couple bugs that have been going around. His doctors added a few extra meds to his regimen and hopefully he’ll get over this quickly. Nothing to be really worried about, it’s just hard for him to fight off anything because he has no immunity.

Rochester trips are still in the radar for the Teeples. They still will have frequent appointments with all the specialties in Rochester to monitor him and make sure things remain trending in the right direction. At least his weekly labs will be done in Lacrosse so they can keep a close eye on his numbers. We are hopeful everything will start to level out for him.

It will take some time to get back into routine, but I hope they will start to enjoy the little things around the house and celebrate life together as family under their own roof!

Personally, I hope I can go longer stretches writing nothing but good news on this site! 😉  This has been the most humbling experience I have ever been part of. For everyone that has reach out to them, to me, our family- THANK YOU! I get choked up so often just talking about this and hearing from people. You all inspire me on so many levels to do good in my own life.

On days that are hard or daunting, remember that God is in control. He will give us comfort when we are weak and in time of need. Lean on your friends and family as sometimes they are the best medicine.

Always remember..

Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love endures forever." Ps. 118:29-

With love,

Aunt Bugsy

Special thanks from the Teeples…

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported our family during these last couple years, on some of the darkest days of our lives.

The support during the past 6 months especially, where we have called Rochester our home has been overwhelming and has demonstrated the strength of our community, family, friends, and strangers.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to the individuals, businesses and community organizations who have shared their time, talents, and gifts. Words cannot express how appreciative we are of the outpouring of kindness and support our family has been given. Thank you for keeping Easton in your prayers and for sending him sweet gifts to let him know that there are kind people out there thinking of us. 💚
