Journal entry by Jess Hauser

Pi day will never be just pi day to our family. Pi day will always be brain tumor day. The day we found out that our seemingly perfectly healthy Easton had a tumor in his brain. We can’t believe it’s been two years. In some ways it seems like yesterday and some ways it seems like a lifetime ago. This day is always an emotional one for our family. A day that definitely changed our lives in an instant. We experienced so many lows in the days that followed, but we are SO incredibly thankful for the Easton that we have today. He worked his butt off to get back to where he is now. He will always have some things that will never be the same. We are still so appreciative of all the doctors and therapists who helped him. Thankful to all the people who helped us get through it as well. We could not have done it alone. Due to scheduling, his two year follow up won’t happen until May 1st. Hoping we get clear scans and we can move to yearly appointments. So between now and May 1st, please send some extra prayers and good vibes Easton’s way! While you’re doing that, please keep in mind all of the local kids recently diagnosed with cancer and send some positivity their way too. We’ll keep you posted after 5/1!
